Wondering what to expect at the event? Check out what happened at last year’s amazing Launch Party!
In 2016, Richmond Moms Blog Announced its Launch with a Beautiful Party full of Fun!
The Richmond Moms Blog Launch Party was so much fun and we have one thing to say, Wow! What an amazing time we had celebrating the birth of this incredible local community of moms. Women from all over the Richmond area arrived to the beautiful James River Cellars Winery just as the sun was falling and the twinkling lights in the trees were shining brightly. The private party room upstairs had been transformed into a gorgeous and cozy space where we gathered to get to know each other over a glass of wine made right in here in Virginia. As the moms met and mingled, some sat with friends they knew and many introduced themselves to new friends. Everyone found a lot to laugh about as we shared tales of newborns, toddlers, teens, spouses and partners. Our friend and official RMB photographer, Courtney Taylor Bowles was there to capture the fun on camera.
The launch party was a time for many busy moms to unwind and relax for the first time in a long time! As we settled into the evening, almost every mom there rushed over to put her name on the list for a luxurious chair massage from the very talented therapists with Well Into Life Massage & Body Work. The owner, Carey Phillips, a mom of two girls living here in Richmond, was there mingling with the moms and enjoying the fun as well!
Another local mom and female business owner, Brooke Fulwider spent the evening with us as well where she had some of her beautiful merchandise on display. Several moms took advantage of the opportunity to pick up some great holiday hostess gifts. Brooke owns For Posh Sake, an on-line business offering beautiful gifts that put the posh into your everyday stuff! She specializes in personalized gifts and is very excited to open a brick and mortar store in the Spring 2017.
In between the pampering, talking, laughing and shopping, we all enjoyed a delicious dinner from Zoe’s Kitchen Willow Lawn. It was such a delight to eat a fresh, healthy, and delicious meal without the chaos of toddlers tugging on our pants or spilling their water in our plates – haha! As if a delicious meal and a glass of wine wasn’t enough of a pleasure, we were treated to the always decadent delight of Carytown Cupcakes. Locally owned and operated, Carytown Cupcakes has a long-time reputation of baking up beautiful and tasty bites, and we can definitely confirm that they are truly delicious!
After dinner and cupcakes and massages, it was time for a few lucky moms to take home the official Richmond Moms Blog t-shirt which was designed by local graphic designer, Helene Kastenbaum, owner of Shockoe Design Co. We are honored to partner with Ink to the People who made the incredibly soft, high quality t-shirts. We will be selling the t-shirts on our website and a portion of the proceeds will benefit a local charity serving mothers and children. Stay tuned for more details.
As we continued in the spirit of giving, our incredible national partner, Britax sent a brand new Boulevard Clicktight car seat home with local momma, Zuhairah Tillinghast! She was over the moon excited and we were thrilled for her! And every mom there took home a beautiful swag bag worth more than $40 with goodies from For Posh Sake, FreshWave, Romp n’Roll, Mindful Mama Soaps and James River Cellars Winery! If you weren’t able to make it out to the Launch Party, we missed you and we can’t wait to see you at our next event! Stay tuned for announcements here.
As the loveliness of the evening continued, some moms traded numbers and shared pictures of their little ones. I caught a glimpse of several women simply leaning back in their chairs to take in the beauty and connection we were all experiencing. The mission of Richmond Moms Blog is to connect, encourage and inspire Richmond moms to embrace the adventure of parenthood. And I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that what we all experienced Friday night was the beginning of seeing that purpose fulfilled! Thank you to every mom who is connecting with us online and offline. Thank you to all the local partners and sponsors who believe in what we are doing. This is only the beginning, and what an incredible beginning it is!
