Guide to Free RVA Summer Fun: June

Here at Richmond Moms Blog, we’re working hard to bring you FREE summer fun activities here in the RVA. For the month of June, here are some fun activities the whole family can enjoy. Have something you’d like to add? Email [email protected] or add it to our calendar.

Saturday, June 3rd

  • Home Depot Kid’s Workshops – Build a Tic-Tac-Toe Board. 9 am-12 pm. Register online.
  • Celebrate Varina Festival with live music, games, vendor fair, and family activities. 10 am-3 pm at Dorey Park.
  • Stories at the Museum. This family-friendly program features special educator-led readings of children’s history books and a craft activity. Stories at the Museum programs are free and open to all ages. 11 am at the Virginia Historical Society.
  • Strawberry Faire @ Randolph-Macon College from 10 am-5 pm.
  • Saturday LIVE at Meadow Farm Museum. Enjoy an afternoon of interactive, living history demonstrations as you explore this mid-19th-century farm. The theme is Cures & Complaints: 19th Century Medicine. 12 pm-3:30 pm at Crump Park/Meadow Farm.
  • Family Movie Night at ARCpark from 6 pm-8 pm: Finding Nemo.
  • Virginia Statewide Free Fishing Days (Saturday & Sunday)

Sunday, June 4th

  • Virginia Statewide Free Fishing Days
  • ARCpark Summer Fest from 12 pm-4 pm. Live music, crafts, games, food trucks, and more!

Wednesday, June 14th

  • Willow Lawn Mommy & Me – Mil’s Trills Children’s Concert – 10 am

Friday, June 16th

  • Movie Night @ Byrd Park (600 S. Boulevard). Featuring The Secret Life of Pets. Activities begin at 8 pm. The movie begins at 8:30 pm. Refreshments available for purchase.

Saturday, June 17th

  • Stories at the Museum. This family-friendly program features special educator-led readings of children’s history books and a craft activity. Stories at the Museum programs are free and open to all ages. 11 am at the Virginia Historical Society.

Friday, June 23rd

  • Movie Night @ Summer Hill Park (Lamber & Castlewood Ave). Featuring Ghostbusters. Activities begin at 8 pm. The movie begins at 8:30 pm. Refreshments available for purchase.

Monday, June 26th

  • Henrico Concert Band Patriotic Concert. Free. Call 652-1460 or 501-5859 for reservations. 6:30 pm-7:30 pm at the Henrico Theatre.

Wednesday, June 28th

  • Chris Campbell: Be a Kid. Free children’s concert. 10 am-11 am at the Henrico Theatre.
