Today is National Grilled Cheese Day and it has our writing team dreaming of warm, gooey, cheesy goodness. We are sharing some of our favorite grilled cheese to make at home and some local places to snag one if you don’t want to make it yourself.
Favorite Grilled Cheeses
Blueberry, Bacon, and Brie Grilled Cheese
This grilled cheese is inspired by a sandwich from Hutch’s former menu. Creamy melted brie paired with sweet juicy blueberries, salty bacon, peppery arugula, and a tangy drizzle of balsamic reduction. So much yum.
Pork and Apple Grilled Cheese
A bit more than a grilled cheese but it’s my favorite way to reuse leftover pork tenderloin. Use a great sourdough bread, spread one slice with Dijon mustard, the other with your favorite jam (I like something a little spicy), then add thinly sliced pork tenderloin, apple slices, and Havarti or brie. It’s soo good!!!
California Grilled Cheese
Dark rye bread, sharp cheddar and swiss, crunchy bacon, and creamy avocado. Perfect!
Caprese Grilled Cheese
All the best things from a Caprese salad melted together on bread. Sweet juicy tomato slices seasoned with salt and pepper, fresh mozzarella cheese, leaves of fresh basil, and a touch of balsamic vinegar.
Kraft Singles and White Bread
Don’t laugh. You know this is a classic and a sure hit with the kids. Nothing melts like that plastic wrapped American cheese. Add a few slices for plenty of oozing cheese. The only question is mayo or no mayo?
